This Website is offered to you conditioned upon your acceptance without modification of all the terms, conditions, and notices set forth below (collectively, the "Agreement"). By accessing or using this Website in any manner, you agree to be bound by the Agreement. Please read the Agreement carefully. If you do not accept all of these terms and conditions, please do not use this Website.

Be sure to return to this page periodically to review the most current version of the Agreement. We reserve the right at any time, at our sole discretion, to change or otherwise modify the Agreement without prior notice, and your continued access or use of this Website signifies your acceptance of the updated or modified agreement.

CHOOSING YOUR HOLIDAY

We hope that your Portobelis Crete Holidays vacation will live up to your expectations, hence it is very important that you choose the right holiday for you. Our staff are always happy to advise and give you their professional opinion.

HOTEL GRADINGS

Choosing the right accommodation for you can be a dilemma! Unlike other sites, all descriptions, photographic material and star ratings used on our site are made by us. We pride ourselves on the fact that what you see and read is what you get! Such information is not taken from a third party.

Prepaid Hotel Reservations

You acknowledge that Portobelis Crete Holidays pre-negotiates certain room rates with hotel suppliers to facilitate the booking of reservations on your behalf. You authorize Portobelis Crete Holidays to book reservations and you agree that your credit card will be charged by Portobelis Crete Holidays for the total reservation price. Upon submitting your reservation request you authorize Portobelis Crete Holidays to facilitate hotel reservations on your behalf, including making payment arrangements with hotel suppliers.

VALIDITY:

All prices are valid from 15th of March until 30th of November

PRICES:

All rates are based on current cost at the time this tariff is issued.

Portobelis Travel Crete guarantees that the prices given will not be increased unless:

1) There are major currency fluctuations or
2) any unforeseen economic changes.

All rates are per room/studio/apartment per day in EURO and net to any commission. Taxi prices are per taxi per way and cars are per car per rental period.

What your holiday price includes:

1. Accommodation:Electricity,water and cleaning services,change of linen and towels every 3-4 days, unless specified otherwise.
Hotels makes every day cleaning exept Sunday and change of linen and towels every 3 days.
2. Transfer service from the airport or harbour to your accommodation (if requested).
3. Car hire service: Delivery to the airport, the harbour or to your chosen accommodation (if requested).
4. General local service provided by our head office in Sitia, which is open 7 days per week throughout the summer months and is at your disposal for any assistance or information you may require.

A2L- APARTMENT: (4-5 pax) Two separate bedrooms, living room/kitchen with sleeping area for one extra person, WC/shower or bath, balcony.

A3L- APARTMENT: (6-7 pax) Three separate bedrooms, living room/kitchen with sleeping area for one extra person WC/shower or bath, balcony.

NOTES: Minimum numbers given as capacity per unit are in regular beds. The extra beds are not necessarily the same and may in certain cases be divan or fold up beds.

BOOKING A ROOM FOR EARLY ARRIVAL OR LATE DEPARTURE

Generally hotel rooms will be available from 14.00 and are to be vacated by 12.00 noon, irrespective of your arrival or departure times, unless we have stated otherwise. Should you wish your room to be ready prior to noon on your day of arrival or available after 12.00 for an afternoon or evening departure, subject to availability, it may be possible to reserve the room at the time of booking at a cost no greater than the extra night price quoted on the brochure page.

CHILDREN ON HOLIDAY

Prices for most properties are per unit per day, hence there is no reduction for children, unless specifically stated in our price list. Baby cots are generally provided free of charge, however some properties do require payment. Again, please refer to our price list for full details.

WEATHER

World weather is becoming more erratic and unpredictable and we cannot be held responsible for disruption to your holiday due to bad or unusual weather conditions. For a good guideline, please check our temperature chart.

OUR STAFF

We pride ourselves on the quality and friendly professionalism of our staff. In our search to continually try and improve our level of service, we are committed to on-going training, part of which may involve the recording of phone calls. We are always pleased to hear from our clients and if you are in Sitia, would welcome you at office, which is situated in a pedestrian zone by the beach, towards the end of the town towards Palekastro.

PAYING FOR YOUR HOLIDAY

After your booking is taken, we require an immediate deposit of 40%. Once this has been received by us, we will send you a receipt and balance invoice, detailing the total cost due. Full payment is due not less than 61 days before arrival. If you do not pay in full 61 days before arrival, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and forfeit your deposit by way of cancellation charges. If you make a holiday booking within 61 days of your arrival date, then you must pay the full cost of the holiday at the booking stage.

CHANGE OR ADDITION TO YOUR HOLIDAY

If you want to change any part of your holiday arrangements after the invoice has been issued, we will do our best to make the change, but it may not be possible. Any request for changes must be made in writing by the person who made the original booking, or his or her travel agent. If it is possible to make the change, it will be subject to an administration charge of €25 per booking, and payment of any further costs incurred as a result of the change. If you change your booking to a holiday of lower value, and then cancel that holiday, we reserve the right to levy cancellation charges on the value of the original booking.


TRANSFER DETAILS:

Whether your transfer is by taxi or bus, our driver will be waiting for you, holding a "Portobelis, Crete" sign. If you are arriving at an airport, our driver will be waiting for you as you come out of the arrivals' hall. At a port, you will see our driver as you get off the boat.

Transfer prices are per bus/taxi, per way in Euro.

Night transfer supplement:
22.30 - 07.30 hrs €95 per bus per way and €32 per taxi per way.
Delays of over 4 hrs: €25 per taxi and €70 per bus.

CAR HIRE INFORMATION:

A valid full driving licence is obligatory for car hire and must be presented. The driver(s) must be 23 years old and have held a full driving licence for at least 12 months.

If you have arranged to pick up your hire car either at an airport or port, our driver will be waiting for you, holding a "Portobelis, Crete" sign. If you are arriving at an airport, the driver will be waiting for you as you come out of the arrivals' hall. At a port, you will see our driver as you get off the boat.

Our driver will put necessary details onto the contract, which should then be read and signed by you. Please see below for full details of insurance. One additional driver can be added, free of charge. Our driver will give you a copy of the signed contract, which must be shown by you in case of any police control. You will also be given a map of Crete and our driver will be pleased to answer any questions you may have. Detailed driving instructions from your arrival point to your end destination can be e-mailed to you on request. Area plans can be found at the point "map" on our Website Portobelis-crete.gr.

If you are departing from Heraklion Airport, please return your car to the big council car park, opposite the airport building. Lock all doors and leave the key with the attendant at the car park office, situated in the middle of the main entrance to the car park. Portobelis Crete will pay the parking fee. If departing from Heraklion Port, Chania/Sitia airport/port, you will be given full instructions regarding the return of your car when the car is delivered to you on your arrival. Please ensure you leave the gas tank at the same level as when the car was delivered to you. You are responsible for any fines incurred for parking/traffic offences!

If you experience any problems at all with your car, please contact us first (0030 2843022370/2843025585). You will be asked your exact position and a mechanic will be sent to assist you as soon as possible.

FULL INSURANCE: COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (C.D.W.) :The Customer is fully relived from the responsibility for damage to the vehicle if he accepts the relevant conditions by singing the contract. Full insurance covers fire and theft, the driver and passengers and all damage to the vehicle rented and the vehicles involved.

Full insurance does not cover the first €650 for categories A/,B/, €750 for categories C/,D/AU/, €850 for categories E/,EA/ and €950 for categories F/, FA.

All damage caused to the underside of the car, the wheels and the tyres are not covered by any insurance.

The Customer is responsible for all damage to the car if he insists on driving with a flat tyre or with the overheat indicator on.

The Customer must comply with the traffic law and any other regulations in force and is not covered by any insurance if driving under the influence of alcohol.

The Customer must have held a driving licence for one full year and be at least 23 years of age otherwise they are not covered by the insurance. There is no maximum age commitment, providing the driver has a full, valid driving licence.

The Customer is liable for all parking and traffic offences.

The vehicle is not to be driven or operated by any person other than the Customer unless such a person has been previously designated and authorized by the Lessor in the space provided and all additional and authorized drivers are liable together with the Customer under the contractual agreement. On each contact there can be a maximum of two drivers.

REFUNDS

No refunds will be paid for unused hotel accommodation, meals, tours, cruises, transfers and car rental unless mutual agreement is made between the customer and Portobelis.

CANCELLING YOUR HOLIDAY

If you or anyone on your holiday booking decides to cancel the holiday you must notify us of the decision as soon as possible. Any notification by telephone must also be confirmed in writing or by e-mail to info@portobelis-crete.gr within 24-hours by the person who made the original booking. Cancellation will take effect from the day we are notified provided that written confirmation is received by us within 24-hours of the original notification.

The following scale of charges will be payable depending on when the notification of cancellation is received:

We would strongly recommend that you take out full insurance, which generally includes cover, under certain circumstances, against loss of deposit or cancellation fees.

IF WE CHANGE YOUR HOLIDAY BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE

We hope and expect to be able to provide you with all the services we have confirmed to you at the time of booking. We plan arrangements a long time in advance of your holiday using independent suppliers over whom we have no direct control. On occasions changes do have to be made, and we reserve the right to make these. Most of these changes are minor. However, if we consider them a SIGNIFICANT CHANGE we will endeavour to advise you as soon as reasonably possible. A significant change includes a change of accommodation to that of a lower category and/or price, or a significant change of resort area. In the case of a SIGNIFICANT CHANGE before your departure we will provide you with three alternatives:

a) alternative travel arrangements of equivalent or of very similar standard and price, if available.
b) alternative travel arrangements of a lower standard together with a refund of the difference in price.
c) cancel your holiday with a full refund of all monies paid.

IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT WHILE YOU ARE ON HOLIDAY

If you have cause for complaint whilst on holiday, you must bring it to our attention and the hotel immediately and we will do our best to rectify the situation without delay. It is unreasonable to take no action whilst on holiday, but then to write a letter of complaint upon return. If you do not raise concerns whilst on holiday, we reserve the right to disregard your complaint.

IF YOU HAVE AN UNRESOLVED PROBLEM

If a problem remains unresolved during your holiday, you should make a complaint in writing to Portobelis Crete Holidays within 28 days of the completion of the holiday. Please remember to quote your holiday booking number and daytime telephone number. We will reply to you within 28 days of receipt of your letter
